Working Hours

The legally permitted number of working hours per day and week for employees under Saudi Labor Law.

Under Saudi Labor Law, the standard maximum working hours are eight hours per day or 48 hours per week. During the holy month of Ramadan, working hours for Muslim employees are reduced to six hours per day or 36 hours per week. Overtime work exceeding standard hours must be compensated at 150% of the normal hourly rate. Employers must ensure that rest breaks are provided — a minimum of 30 minutes must be allowed after five consecutive working hours. Accurate working hours tracking through HRMS systems is essential for payroll compliance. Inclusive Solutions advises on working hours management as part of its HR and payroll services.
